 Spread the Truth

Fast change. What is it doing to people today? It makes them not know God.

The less time you spend with others, the less you know them.

The less time you spend with God, the less you know about Him and the less you understand about His offer of salvation.

A fast changing society keeps people from dedicating more time to God’s Word!

Too many young people spend hours on their thousand dollar phones but does not give even a tenth of the time they have on God’s Word. How many times have you seen couples or groups of friends on their phones instead of putting their phones away and facing each other and talking to each other? Too often.

Since the sexual revolution that opened the door to immorality, the computers, tablets, phones and of course social media – changes from generation to generation are more dramatic than past generations.

Society has changed so much and it is this change that is keeping people from the Lord. Satan has so many more tools in our modern society.

Our counter? It is not about stopping change. Change will continue. But, we can use change to serve the Lord. As some are doing, we can spread the truth of God’s Word through the modern tools we have today. We can go out more, we can go out faster.

We don’t have to fall to change but we can use it as a weapon to glorify God. This is a war that we will never give up. Amen!

SEPEMBER 22, 2019 (jOHN 6:35)

In communion, we share in the breaking of bread and drinking of wine; symbolic elements representing the body and blood of Christ.

Communion is not just one of those church traditions. This is one of two sacraments we observe in the Protestant church. We observe communion because Jesus asked us to. It is more than any apostolic tradition.

Jesus referred to Himself as “the Bread of Life” and the Bible has referred to Jesus as the “Lamb.”

In sacrificing Himself, and by being our substitute and paying the penalty for our sins, Jesus rescued us from that place you don’t want to go for an eternity.

Isaiah 1:18 mentions that your sins will be as ‘white as snow.’ Jesus bled for us so that our sins could be cleansed for all time- thereby restoring our relationship with the Father.

The elements we use are symbolic, but the meaning of the elements is truth

Communion is not just about remembering the past, but remembering what we have today. He is still saving and forgiving today – and His spirit wants to work through each and every one of us to reach out to everyone.

Remember that He is and always will be alive and active in your life and in the world.

One thing to celebrate on the forth of July besides our independence is the freedoms we have gained - the freedom to believe in and the freedom to worship Him.

In today’s verse, Isaiah talks about a NEW FREEDOM that would come in the future.

Isaiah’s words are later repeated in Luke 4:18-19 by none other than … Jesus. Jesus is inaugurating the beginning of His ministry by repeating Isaiah’ words. He is saying that the new freedom is here … the He is the One.

The most popular allegory in history.

Pilgrim’s Progress is a story of a man journey seeking relief from his hurt and the burdens he carries. It is a journey that we can all relate to because it is our Christian journey.

Your commitment and accepting the Lord Jesus into your life is not the end. It is only the beginning.

Pilgrim’s Progress highlights all that we face, the temptations and the many traps will take us off the road in our journey. When you accept Jesus into your life, life does not get easier … it get much harder as you are attacked mercilessly. That is why God gives us the armor for us to wear and defend ourselves.

As Christians, you all know the concepts in Pilgrim’s Progress. This story is meant to encourage you and let you know that you are never alone.

You have to focus and endure and overcome each obstacle that gets in your way. The story tells that He will help you in your journey every time you get into a predicament that seems overwhelming. He is with you, He is always with you.

So yes, you are not alone, you will never be alone.

Be Strong!

OCTOBER 6, 2019 (jAMES 4:7-10)

Last week I finished with saying to you, “You are not alone, you will never be alone.” That holds so true with today’s topic – ‘enemy attacks.’

Our real life journey is exactly like what Christian went through in Pilgrim’s Progress. The enemy attacks begin once we accept Jesus into our lives.

The attacks are deceptive and disguised, they are well planned and come from all areas of your life, and the attacks are without end.

It is like being in a secure home and the outside is the symbol of his attacks. The seasons and weather is constant and never ending.Inside, you can protect yourself from the elements. No one wants to go outside in a heavy downpour or in freezing temperatures, so your home is your protection. On a nice sunny day, you want to go outside, but that is the temptation he throws at you. The protection of your home is something you need – it is something you can surround yourself with. When Satan attacks you in the supernatural realm, you have no physical protections. No physical weapons? No problem.

When you first accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, you submitted yourself to the Lord by committing your lives to Him and His will. Now you can resist the devil. How? By voicing your faith in Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Your best counterattack to the enemy’s attacks is to speak about your faith in the Lord out loud. The enemy cannot stand hearing the Lord exalted, so when you do this, he will flee from you.

So when you feel any anxiety, fear or doubt, recognize the devil’s attacks and defeat him by praising the name of Jesus!

Our Lord has already won and He will also lead you … to victory.

October 13, 2019 (Acts 2:21)

Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Whether it is Peter in Acts, Paul in Romans or Joel from the Old Testament … Calling on the name of the LORD even in their different contexts implies the same thing – it is about those who turn to Christ in faith, seeking salvation.

Just two points I want to make. First, as Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “…Not everyone who says to me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” So, it is not just the words that are spoken…The same sentiment contained in the prayer of salvation or the sinner’s prayer must be present. And this applies to everyone, both Jews and Gentiles.

Second, as you callon the name of Yahweh from the Old Testament or LORD as we do today, you are expressing your faith in Him.

Calling on the name of the Lord and Believing in the Lord is essentially the same thing.

To all you believers … do this, call on the Name of the Lord during your prayers. This is something we all need to do.

October 20, 2019 (Exodus 20:13)

You shall not murder.

This is a statement that most of us believe in.

In Genesis 1:26, God said that He is making us in His image, in His likeness… now, would you destroy something that God has made in His image? You were made in his image – would you destroy another who was also made in his image? Of course not.

God has blessed us with our lives and He is blessing the new lives that are continually coming to join us on this earth; these are lives that are set apart and given purpose as described in Psalms 139:13-16.

When a life that God has blessed with purpose begins it’s journey in the womb of a mother to be, but is destroyed before taking a breath of this air that we breathe – that’s called abortion.

It is a sin against God.

When a woman conceives as a result of the sins of others, it makes for a difficult social issue.

Since 1973, with Roe vs. Wade, 40 million lives have been murdered.

As Christians the bottom line is that you must maintain your faith in the Lord and His creating power, both natural and spiritual.

And we must always trust in the Lord, who knows all things – including the lives of those yet to be born.

Birth does not define Life – Life is defined by the Will of God.
